They say that the best products are borne of need. We have been in ecommerce since the 1990's. We started with a simple perl script, migrated to xCart, moved to Magento, did the home built php route, then finally latched onto Shopify. We operated 20 high volume shops on shopify and were spending hundreds of dollars on each for add ons and functionality we believe should be part of the base product. After several years of donating cash to the Shopify ecosystem we decided to once again roll our own. We've spent three years developing a fast, efficient cart with all the stuff we need tightly integrated. After a couple of BFCM cycles we know it is bulletproof and want to share it with other like minded merchants tired of populating Shopify's pockets.
BTW, our founder is a Stanford CompSci Ph.D. network engineer, so we know a thing or two abot operating worldwide networks with lots of redundancy and no downtime - unlike Shopify apparently lol. (Shopify went down during Black Friday 2025)
Along the way, we lost our minds and opened some brick and mortar retail stores to offer items we sell online! Guess what we made? That's right, a simple yet powerful Point of Sale system with built in inventory management and accounting. Everything you need and nothing you don't. We also have friends & family in the Bar & Restaurant industry so we are have created a version for them as well. We also have experience in automotive, aviation, winery operations and hospitality - we will happily extend our POS to those industries as well if there is interest.
Being software developers at heart, we've also exposed an in depth API that is available to those who want to extend our platform - we hope that they will follow our lead and make their apps inclusive and affordable.
